Admission Policy
Desired students
This degree program seeks individuals who have the ability to understand the mechanisms of maintenance, adaptation, and inheritance of human life, and who have the qualities to become global leaders in a wide range of industry, academia, and government.
Selection policy
We do not question the amount of knowledge that the applicant currently possesses, but rather evaluate the applicant's capabilities, specifically whether they can reason logically using the given environment and their current knowledge and skills, whether they can explain things to others in an easy-to-understand manner, whether they can understand others' explanations, and how the applicant deals with difficulties when they arise.
The Entrance Examination: August 2026(Enrollment for April 2027)[General Admission]
The University of Tsukuba has completed the procedures with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) for the establishment of the Graduate School of Integrative and Global Multidisciplinary Arena (G-SIGMA), and its establishment in April 2027 has been approved.
Successful applicants from the August 2026 entrance examination will enroll in the Doctoral Program in Humanics under G-SIGMA.

The Entrance Examination: January 2027(Enrollment for April or October 2027)[General Admission]
The University of Tsukuba has completed the procedures with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) for the establishment of the Graduate School of Integrative and Global Multidisciplinary Arena (G-SIGMA), and its establishment in April 2027 has been approved.
The January entrance examination for the Doctoral Program in Human Biology will be conducted as the entrance examination for the Doctoral Program in Humanics under G-SIGMA. For the latest information on admissions, please refer to the new Application Guidelines, which are scheduled to be published in mid-September 2026.
